IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

• Most of all, make sure your burner is kept away from drafts, curtains and children and pets.
• Do not put wax melts in your mouth, if eaten go straight to Accident and emergency!
• First of all, pre-wash a new burner oil bowl or ceramic burner with warm soapy and ensure it is completely dry before using it.
• Simply place your wax melts in the top of the dry oil burner and do NOT add water
• Once lit place your tea light at the base of the oil burner allowing the wax melts to heat up and melt releasing the fragrance into your room.
• We recommend you use the tea lights which burn between 2 – 4 hours.
• Extinguish the tea light candle when leaving the room and never leave your oil burner unattended or within reach of children.
• Once the tea light is extinguished the wax will solidify, you can either re-use again.
• To discard gently tap the sides of the burner and most times the wax tart will pop out,  If not place the oil burner in the freezer for a short time and try again. If all else fails, maybe light the tea light and let it warm the wax for a few seconds enough to loosen the wax and push it out who and then finally wipe any excess with a tissue.
• Our wax melts work well in both an electric oil burner and also the traditional style oil burner.
• Finally, only be use an electric burner if it has passed a safety standard.
• Oil burners can become hot, therefore, always use a heat proof mat to place your burner on.

Never leave your burner unattended.

Cyclamen aldehyde (2-Methyl-3-(p-isopropylphenyl) propionaldehyde) (repr. Cat 3),

1-Benzopyran-2-one (Coumarin), Iso E super (Octahydro-2,3,8,8-tetramethyl-2-acetonaphthone),

alpha-Hexyl cinnamic aldehyde (HCA) (2-Hexyl-phenyl-2-propenal) and Benzyl salicylate

(Phenylmethyl-2-hydroxybenzoate).

Let’s break down these fragrance ingredients:

• Cyclamen aldehyde (2-Methyl-3-(p-isopropylphenyl)propionaldehyde) (repr. Cat 3): This is a synthetic fragrance ingredient with a floral scent reminiscent of cyclamen flowers. It’s used to add a fresh, floral, and sometimes slightly green note to perfumes and other scented products. The “(repr. Cat 3)” indicates that it’s classified as a Category 3 reproductive toxicant. This means there’s some evidence of potential reproductive or developmental effects, but the level of concern is relatively lower compared to Category 1 or 2. It’s important to note that the concentrations used in consumer products are typically low and considered safe under normal use conditions, but this classification raises a flag for potential long-term or high-exposure risks. 

  -Benzopyran-2-one (Coumarin): Coumarin is a naturally occurring compound found in many plants, such as tonka beans, sweet clover, and cinnamon. It has a sweet, warm, vanilla-like, hay-like, or almond-like scent. It’s widely used in perfumery and flavourings. However, it has been restricted in some applications due to concerns about liver toxicity at high doses. The concentrations used in fragrances are generally considered safe, but regulations exist to limit its use.

• Iso E Super (Octahydro-2,3,8,8-tetramethyl-2-acetonaphthone): This is a very common synthetic fragrance ingredient known for its subtle, woody, amber-like, and musky scent. It’s often described as having a velvety or smooth quality. Iso E Super is incredibly versatile and is used as a base note in many perfumes, providing a foundation for other scents to build upon. It’s also known for its “lift” and diffusion properties, helping other fragrance notes to project and last longer. Although it was previously subject to some scrutiny, current scientific evidence generally supports its safety at typical usage levels in consumer products.

• alpha-Hexyl cinnamic aldehyde (HCA) (2-Hexyl-phenyl-2-propenal): HCA is a synthetic fragrance ingredient with a sweet, floral scent reminiscent of jasmine. It’s widely used in perfumes, soaps, detergents, and other scented products to add a floral, slightly waxy, and sometimes powdery note. It’s one of the fragrance ingredients that has been identified as a potential allergen for some people. Therefore, its use is regulated, and products containing it are often required to be labelled accordingly.

• Benzyl salicylate (Phenylmethyl-2-hydroxybenzoate): Benzyl salicylate is a naturally occurring ester found in many plants, including ylang-ylang, jasmine, and cloves. It has a sweet, floral, slightly balsamic scent. It’s used in perfumery as a fixative (to help other scents last longer) and to add a sweet, floral, and slightly powdery note. It’s also used in some sunscreens for its UV-absorbing properties. While generally considered safe for use in fragrances, it can be a potential allergen for some individuals.
